Yummy Summer Appetizer Recipes

These summer appetizer recipes are quick and easy; and they will make all your lazy days of summer get-togethers easy, delicious, and fun. These summer appetizers will go fast, so you will want to make two (2) batches.
“Chicken Barbee Kabobs”
Prep Time: 15 Min
Cook Time: 15 Min
Ready Time: 30 Min
Serves: Serves 6
Ingredients:
- 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 2 large green bell peppers
- 2 large red bell peppers
- 1 large red onion
- 1 large yellow onion
- 1½ cups Sun Zen Sweet Pepper BBQ Sauce
- Kabob skewers
Directions:
- Preheat grill for high heat.
- Cut chicken into cubes; cut up green and red pepper into 2 inch pieces; and cut onion into wedges
- Thread the chicken, red onion, green bell pepper, yellow onion, and red bell pepper pieces onto skewers alternately.
- Lightly oil the grill grate. Place kabobs on the prepared grill, and brush with Sweet Pepper BBQ sauce. Cook, turning and brushing with barbeque sauce frequently, for 15 minutes, or until chicken juices run clear.
- Serve warm.
“Summer Cheese Poppers”
Prep Time: 15 Min
Cook Time: 15-20 Min
Servings: 12-15
Ingredients:
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick)
- 1/2 teaspoon Sun Zen Italian Cheese & Smoked Pepper Seasoning
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup freshly grated pepper jack cheese
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Sun Zen Garlic Parmesan Sauce
Directions:
- Combine water, butter and Italian Cheese & Smoked Pepper Seasoning in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil and cook until the butter melts.
- Add flour and stir until mixed thoroughly, about 3 minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time, and beat with a hand mixer. Stir in the cheeses and mix well.
- Preheat oil on medium-high heat in a large deep skillet
- Spoon mixture into 1-inch balls. Drop balls into the oil by the spoonful; cook in batches until browned, about 3-4 minutes each batch.
- Drain cheese poppers on paper towels.
- Serve with warm with Garlic Parmesan Sauce for dipping.
